We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager - Food Services to join our team.

Based in the Greater Toronto area, you will plan, develop and coordinate sales activities to expand our sales with a new customer base across the Canadian and US marketplaces by identifying potential customers and introducing them to LRCC products, while managing existing distributors and regional chain business.

You will be responsible for developing the foodservice market for LRCC, focusing on executing business strategy for LRCC, and developing a plan to engage new distributors and customers. Using your market and product knowledge, you will also source and develop new accounts through active prospecting, referrals, and leads.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Developing local and regional chain business, as well as top restaurant accounts in all regions
  • Building relationships with key chain accounts and leveraging La Rocca broad catalogue of existing products and development capabilities to be the premier dessert supplier for important foodservice chain accounts.
  • Working with distributors to facilitate the requirements of foodservice operators responding to product inquiries, and acting as an LRCC representative in the foodservice channel
  • Identifying and helping implement go-to-market strategy for new products and programs with target markets and customers
  • Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of all LRCC products and programs, along with knowledge of the competition's markets, products, and pricing
  • Assisting in the development of budgets and sales strategies
  • Maintaining and developing working relationships with new and existing customers by keeping in constant contact with customers, following a visitation schedule, identifying customer needs, following up in a timely fashion, and sampling as needed
  • Monitoring the quality of our products and services to ensure customers are trained in the handling and care of their desserts
  • Recognizing promotional and development opportunities and recommending events/activities that could benefit LRCC
  • Building relations with foodservice industry contacts in order to identify potential customers and market opportunities
  • Communicating regularly with Sales Director on trends, issues, and opportunities
  • Driving sales to meet department targets both in growth (local and regional chains and high volume accounts) and with our high profile, fine dining market segment
  • Travelling to work in other Canadian markets as required

What we need!

  • 5 - 8 years of sales experience working in the food service business (including experience working with distributors, foodservice chain accounts and independent street business and distributors)
  • Strong computer and software skills
  • A good understanding of the foodservice marketplace
  • A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
  • A valid Passport
  • The ability to work occasional weekends and evenings, with occasional overnight travel when required
  • A post-secondary education in business and/or culinary arts (asset only)
  • Bilingualism in both English and French (asset only)

Above all, you must have exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills. You will also have the ability to work independently combined with strong planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
