About Lung Foundation Australia

Lung Foundation Australia is a national, not-for-profit organisation based in Brisbane. Their vision is to improve lung health and reduce the impact of lung disease by:

  • Educating the community in lung health and early detection of lung disease;
  • Reducing the burden of lung disease in the community through patient and carer support;
  • Influencing public policy, through advocacy across all levels of government; and
  • Raising funds for medical and scientific research.

The Lung Foundation Australia National Office employs about 21 professional/administrative staff, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers. 

About the Opportunity

Lung Foundation Australia is now seeking a Marketing & Communications Officer to join their team in Milton, Brisbane, on a full-time basis. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Marketing & Communications and working closely with the Media Manager, you will play a central role within the team and be responsible for supporting the implementation and evaluation of marketing, communications, public relations and online activities across a range of exciting campaigns and projects areas. The team is also gearing up to deliver the first phase of large digital marketing project, of which you will play an integral role.

More specifically, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Supporting the development and delivery of marketing and communication strategies, awareness campaigns, and publications;
  • Developing content for digital platforms including the website and social media, and maintaining the social media schedule/enquiries and website content;
  • Liaising with key stakeholders including journalists and media outlets, digital and design agencies, patients, pharmacy groups, and sponsors;
  • Assisting with the development and distribution of media materials such as press releases and briefing documents;
  • Developing and distributing EDMs; and
  • Monitoring and reporting on all digital activities including social media, website and email newsletters – analysing and providing recommendations to support improvement.

About You

Lung Foundation Australia is looking for an enthusiastic individual with strong initiative and a desire to grow their career within the not-for-profit space. You'll hold relevant tertiary qualifications (i.e. Marketing Communications, PR, Journalism, Media, etc.) and strong copywriting skills. Although not essential, experience using the Adobe Creative Suite will be highly regarded.

This role would suit someone with a couple of years' relevant experience under their belt (Digital Marketing and PR experience would be great!), however recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.

As this is a fast-paced and varied role, Lung Foundation is after organised candidates who are able to work across a variety of projects at once. You'll be stepping into a supportive team environment and as such, you'll need to work collaboratively with others and be willing to jump into any task at hand!
