About the Opportunity

Marathon Health now has a rewarding opportunity for a Registered or Clinical Psychologist to act as the Clinical Leader for the headspace team based in Bathurst, NSW. This role is being offered on a full-time OR permanent, part-time basis (0.8 FTE), depending on the requirements of the successful candidate.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Clinical Leader will perform a senior clinician role and provide clinical leadership, supervision and guidance to the headspace team. You will deliver direct clinical services to young people accessing the centre and provide services to a small number of clients under the MBS.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

  • Maintaining effective working relationships with the headspace partner organisations, other stakeholders and the headspace team;
  • Manage the intake and service delivery distribution of up to 40 new young people into the organisation per month;
  • Providing the headspace Program Manager with advice regarding the delivery of clinical services within headspace;
  • Providing appropriate evidence-based counselling and psychological interventions to clients; and
  • Developing, implementing and evaluating continuous clinical quality improvement activities to improve the clinical service provision and outcomes for headspace clients.

About You

To be considered for this position you will be a tertiary qualified Registered or Clinical Psychologist with APHRA registration and the eligibility to receive payment through the Medicare Better Access Program (MBS). You will also need to hold registration as a Board Approved Supervisor (or be eligible for approval).

Marathon Health is looking for candidates with significant, demonstrable experience in the provision of clinical services to young people with mental health issues. Any experience with anxiety, depression, bullying, abuse and/or trauma, will be highly regarded.

Leadership is a key component of this position and the ability to provide ongoing support and guidance to staff in order to maintain a high-quality of service provision and avoid team member burnout will be critical to your success.

This position would be suited to a well-rounded Registered or Clinical Psychologist who is able to provide supervision across a broad range of areas.

About the Benefits

An attractive remuneration package is on offer circa $90,000 - $100,000 for a Registered Psychologist or $110,000 for a Clinical Psychologist (pro-rata)The opportunity to use company facilities to meet your own private clients is also available, with anticipated additional earnings around $40,000 per annum. This would bring your total earnings to up to $130,000-$140,000 for a Registered Psychologist and $150,000 for a Clinical Psychologist. 

You will also receive a number of additional benefits, including:

  • The ability to work full-time or part-time (0.8 FTE) based on your requirements;
  • Salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum;
  • The opportunity to use company facilities to meet your own private clients;
  • 5 weeks annual leave;
  • Extra paid leave days over the Christmas/New Year period;
  • Annual professional development allowance of up to $1,500 (after probationary period);
  • Uniform allowance;
  • Up to 5 days paid study leave per annum;
  • Time in lieu (TOIL); and
  • Flexible hours (7am to 6pm), finishing at 3pm on a Friday.
