About the Opportunity

The Village Taigum is poised to rapidly expand in the coming year, and the Village Retirement Group is now seeking to employ an Assistant Village Manager at the village. This is a full-time position and is considered a key role in the on-going success of the village.

In this varied and busy role, you’ll be a key person in supporting the Village Manager with the day-to-day operational requirements of the village.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Village Manager in managing the Village accounting processes including budgeting, credit control, financial management, and the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions;
  • Carrying out OHS contractor inductions and maintaining OHS processes to ensure that ongoing safety of the village and the workplace is maintained;
  • Providing ongoing support to residents to maintain their quality of life and independence;
  • Welcoming new residents to the village, undertaking settlements and helping them settle into their new premises; and 
  • Assisting the Village Manager with any other marketing, strategic, HSE or other operational requirements as needed to ensure effective running of the site.

To be considered for this position you will hold a minimum of a Year 12 certificate and previous experience working in the retirement living field, ideally in a similar capacity. However, the qualities held by the individual are important and the role may also suit someone from a hospitality or service background.

Strong computer literacy with a focus on the Microsoft Office suite is a must and any experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable and/or payable will be highly regarded. Any experience using MYOB, Exo or Sharepoint would be highly regarded. 

This is a very busy and varied position where no two days are ever quite the same! It needs someone who is flexible in their work approach, can work autonomously and can think on their feet to solve problems. You will have a mature outlook and possess a genuine interest in the provision and development of retirement living services. 

This role would be well-suited to someone from a hospitality or customer service background. 

Please note: Prior to commencement the successful candidate will be required to obtain a current First Aid Certificate with CPR and a current police check - National Criminal History Check.
