About the Opportunity

The Village Retirement Group now has a full-time opportunity for an Accounts and Administration Assistant to become an integral part of the team based in Coorparoo Village, Brisbane.

Reporting to the Village Manager, you will be primarily responsible for providing accounts and administrative support for the Village, ensuring all account matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner, including the payment and receipt of all invoices. You will also be required to do relief reception duty when the receptionist is out of the office, and be on-call to assist residents at the Village if and when needed.

Some of your key responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Ensuring all Village expenses are processed accurately, timely and in accordance with Head Office policy;
  • Ensuring resident accounts are accurate and distributed monthly within the required time frames;
  • Reconciling petty cash on a monthly basis and processing Village credit card receipts; 
  • Assisting residents with enquiries and resource information by maintaining relevant contacts, newsletters and electronic communications; and
  • Assisting the Village Manager with any other administrative duties such as filing/photocopying/data entry etc as required.

About You

This is a perfect opportunity for someone with demonstrated experience doing basic accounts administration, who is looking to grow their skill-set in this area, whilst still having the opportunity to get variety in their day through the delivery of additional administrative work. 

You won't need any formal qualifications to be considered for this role, however you must be a whizz with Excel and have had exposure to an accounting software such as MYOB. 

Importantly, you will have great attention to detail and the ability to stay focused in a busy office environment that can have lots of distractions. You will be a team player who is flexible in your approach to your work and friendly and professional in your dealings with Village residents.
