The national headquarters is located at Level 4, 410 Queen Street, Brisbane, Queensland. There are more than 40 full and part time staff working in the national headquarters. The College also employs a small number of staff in other cities and towns throughout Australia.

The College's core function is to determine and uphold the standards that define and govern competent unsupervised rural and remote medical practice.

About the John Flynn Placement Program (JFPP)

The John Flynn Placement Program (JFPP) is an integral part of the Federal Government's long-term strategy to attract more rural doctors and improve the quality of health care in rural areas. Working closely with a rural doctor as a mentor and the host community, medical students develop a better understanding of the challenges and rewards associated with rural medical practice and non-metropolitan health care services.
