About the organisation

Bourke and District Children's Services (BDCS) is a community managed not-for-profit children's service located in Bourke, Western NSW. Their services include a Childcare Centre, Preschool, Mobile Play Session which also incorporates a Toy Library, and Before and After School Care.

About the Roles

Due to growth within the organisation, BDCS now has two rewarding opportunities for Early Childhood Teachers available. The first role is for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher on a full-time basis and the second role is for an Early Childhood Teacher on either a full-time or part-time basis. Both of these roles are located in Bourke, Western NSW.

One role will be teaching children 0 - 6 years and the other will be teaching years 3 - 5.

Both of these roles will require you to provide an accessible and interactive learning environment for students attending the childcare centre. 

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Assessing the needs of each individual child ensuring they are progressing towards school readiness;
  • Planning and programming the curriculum in line with the organisation's goals and values;
  • Providing assistance and mentorship to other educators;
  • Liaising with Directors and Management team; and
  • Engaging with the community to ensure their needs are being met.

To be successful in this role, you must hold a degree in Early Childhood (ACECQA approved) or Bachelor of Education.

You will also need an advanced understanding of Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Framework. Candidates with an equivalent overseas qualification may be considered providing that it is approved for by ACECQA.
