About the Opportunity

The Village Retirement Group now has a brand new, full-time opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team based in Redcliffe, Brisbane.

Reporting to the Village Manager, you will supervise a small team of up to 4 staff responsible for the general maintenance of the grounds, buildings and equipment at the Village, Redcliffe. Following a daily maintenance schedule, you will ensure all tasks are completed on time and to resident satisfaction. 

Some of your key areas of responsibility will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Overseeing and assisting in grounds maintenance activities including hedging, mowing and top soil dressing;
  • Coordinating with contractors for equipment maintenance (including golf carts and utility vehicles);
  • Responding to resident villa maintenance requests and coordinating contractor assistance where required;
  • Conducting pool water testing and recording; and
  • Scheduling preventative maintenance where required.

About You

This is an incredibly varied role and would be well suited to a handyperson or an ex-tradesperson who is looking to move away from the day-to-day trade grind.

To be successful, you must be a mature individual with the ability to perform the physical tasks required in this role. Previous experience in a similar or trade role, trade qualifications, or a background in the facilities/accommodation industry will be held in high regard, however, is not essential. 

As this is a supervisory role, previous experience overseeing staff and/or a desire to step-up into a leadership capacity, is a must.

Candidates will also need to hold a current manual driver's license.

As you will be dealing with residents of the Village on a daily basis, it is important that you are personable and friendly whilst being able to maintain professionalism.
