About the Opportunity

Samuel Smith & Son now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Credit Manager to join their team in Adelaide, SA. This is a rare opportunity to become part of an outstanding credit team within an organisation known globally for its reputation in the wine industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a customer ledger, assessing credit risk, and collecting past due debts.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a ledger of approximately 1,000 active accounts using sound Credit Management practices;
  • Setting and maintaining appropriate credit limits and terms;
  • Ensuring credit applications are legally enforceable;
  • Pursuing delinquent accounts;
  • Liaising with Insolvency Practitioners; and
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have demonstrated experience in a similar role, a proven record of commercial credit management, a strong understanding of credit risk, and sound legal knowledge of credit management.

Samuel Smith & Son is seeking a mature individual who can work calmly within a fast-paced, high volume environment. You'll be skilled in managing competing priorities, with high level attention to detail and competency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite. While not essential, a certificate in credit management and previous experience with JD Edwards will be highly regarded. 

Importantly, you'll possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders. A self-motivated person who leads by example and is willing to jump into any task at hand will fit right in; although you'll be responsible for your own ledger, the credit team and Samuel Smith & Son culture is based around working collaboratively with others to reach a common greater goal.
