About the Opportunities
Currently, Mainland Machinery Ltd. has multiple openings for Welders, Steel Fabricators, and Fitters/Welders to join our team in Aldergrove, British Columbia.
In these roles, you will report to the Shop Foreman and work on products and services for the energy, mining, ports & terminals, and industrial agriculture industries.
- As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding, reading and understanding shop drawings, and layout/measuring. In order to qualify for these roles, you must have a minimum C Ticket (Level 1) and have strong welding ability in MCAW and FCAW.
- As a Steel Fabricator, you will weld, fabricate, and assemble structural metal products, such as framework or shells for machinery, tanks, stacks, and metal parts. You will locate and mark bending and cutting lines onto workpiece. You will also set up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses and also design and construct templates and fixtures according to according to job order, verbal instructions, and blueprints. Finally, you will verify conformance of workpiece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape. In order to qualify for these roles, you will have strong welding ability in MCAW and FCAW. A C Ticket (Level 1) is a definite asset but is not required.
- As a Fitter/Welder, you will be responsible for welding, reading and understanding shop drawings, and layout/measuring. In order to qualify for these roles, you will have strong welding ability in MCAW and FCAW. A C Ticket (Level 1) is a definite asset but is not required.
If you have strong communication skills and can work well as part of a team, this could be the perfect role for you!
You must also have strong attention to detail and the ability to carry out and follow instructions efficiently. Above all, you must be able to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Best of all, you will be working on some of the most interesting projects in the industry! Your work variety will also be furthered as cross train and use your skills to manufacture unique custom projects.
