Lung Foundation Australia is a national, not-for-profit organisation based in Brisbane. Their vision is to ensure that lung health is a priority for all in Australia and to promote lung health by:
- Educating the community in lung health and early detection of lung disease;
- Reducing the burden of lung disease in the community through patient and carer support;
- Influencing public policy, through advocacy across all levels of government; and
- Raising funds for medical and scientific research.
The Lung Foundation Australia nationally employs about 25 professional/administrative staff, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.
About the Opportunity
Lung Foundation Australia now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Community Fundraising Coordinator to join their dedicated team in Brisbane.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Fundraising, this role will see you driving the development and implementation of community fundraising, including sourcing, developing and managing a portfolio of community fundraisers, inspiring them to achieve their goals and generate income for Lung Foundation Australia's fundraising activities and campaigns.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include:
- Leading and implementing strategies to grow community fundraising campaigns and income;
- Working across the Lung Foundation Australia teams to seek opportunities to deepen supporters’ engagement;
- Assisting in the development and execution of marketing and communications plans relating to community fundraising campaigns;
- Evaluating, monitoring and reporting on the ongoing performance of community fundraising strategies;
- Providing high quality support, advice and up-to-date information to donors and prospects, members of public, key sponsors, corporations, and other external stakeholders wishing to undertake fundraising activities;
- Developing corporate and community group relationships to secure speaking engagements for raising awareness and fundraising; and
- Reaching set income targets from community fundraising and campaigns as measured against the annual budget.
About You
The successful candidate will hold a Degree level qualification in Business, Marketing or other relevant discipline, and will possess experience in the area of community fundraising, working with sponsors and donors. Knowledge of, or experience with, personal fundraising platforms will be highly regarded.
Importantly, Lung Foundation Australia is looking for someone who is confident, personable and enthusiastic. You'll be a real 'people person' - always pleasant, positive, and thriving in networking situations. As your direct leader will be based out of the Sydney office, it's crucial you also be self-motivated and thrive in an autonomous environment.
In addition, you will have excellent business acumen, excellent communication skills and strong rapport building and business development talent, enabling you to build long lasting, healthy relationships with stakeholders at corporate and community levels.
