About the Opportunity
Knauf Australia now has two opportunities for Warehouse Operators to join their Cairns facility, on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Operators coordinate the efficient and effective loading of local trucks, customer pickups, and deliveries. They also ensure all activities are undertaken in a safe and professional manner and to maintain Knauf's commitment to providing its customers with a high standard of customer service and products.
More specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Liaising with customers and/or truck drivers on weights and any special loading requirements;
- Developing load sheets for large orders as required;
- Ensuring packing slips are filled in and checked correctly;
- Ensuring all products loaded are correctly packed limiting any damage in transit;
- Carrying out local deliveries when required;
- Assisting in stocktakes as required; and
- Ensuring that all work is performed in a manner which demonstrates commitment to Knauf values.
Who is Knauf Looking For?
To be successful in this position you will have previous experience in a similar position, with a strong understanding and working knowledge of warehouse operations, including transportation and freight. Candidates will also need to hold a current C Class Drivers License and a Forklift Licence and be comfortable operating a Forklift on a regular basis. An MR Class License will also be required prior to commencement.
While not essential, candidates with SAP experience will be held in high regard, as will previous experience with building materials.
Finally, Knauf is looking for team players with a positive attitude and a focus on delivering great customer service at all times.
Please note: This is a hands on, labour intensive role that requires incumbents to be able to lift up to 25kg of plasterboard at a time. As such, the ability to comfortably lift up to 25kgs on a daily basis is an essential requirement of this position.
