About the Opportunity

Global Fruit is currently seeking a driven and hard-working Sales and Marketing Professional to join our North American team on a full-time basis. Our offices are based in Creston, BC but this role may be offered as a remote position for the right candidate.

In this role, you will be responsible for sales to all of our North American clients during the harvest season, and market and strategy planning and development during the off-season.

Working with the President, the successful candidate will play a vital part in the organization by driving daily sales activities to ensure that planned progress, goals, milestones and profitability are being met. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Receiving requests for quotations, orders, and lead times from customers.
  • Making quotations on standard products, writing orders, and relaying pertinent order information to customers
  • Coordinating with other departments in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers
  • Achieving and maintaining rapport with customers and working to give them the best possible service
  • Maintaining files of active orders
  • Providing Weekly Progress Reports to management
  • Identifying and investigating new avenues for sales during the off-season

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record of success in a faced-paced sales environment. Our ideal candidate would have experience in the fruit sales industry, but we are willing to consider and train the right candidate from other industries.  

You will also possess the following:

  • Excellent communications skills - written, verbal, interpersonal
  • A positive, professional attitude with the ability to take initiative on processes outside of the defined job scope, including motivation to research and provide proactive solutions to management
  • Demonstrated skills to handle a variety of multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to form good working relationships with team members
  • Ability to plan your work, set priorities and determine resource requirements necessary to complete tasks

Above all, you will have the ability to work independently, but also as part of a larger team as a whole. You will have no trouble taking complete ownership of your accounts, and you will not shy away from a little healthy competition. Your ability to adapt to changes and your sense of urgency will be the key to your success in this role. 

Please note that some travel to the United States and other international destinations will be involved in this role and as a result, you must be willing and able to travel out of the country when needed.
