About the Opportunity

Our client has been providing software solutions to energy participants for over ten years and has become Australia’s benchmark for B2B and B2M, Revenue Assurance, Retail, Distribution and Metering Services solutions for the Australian Utilities sector.

They now have an exciting leadership opportunity for a Chief Operating Officer with an IT/Software background to join their team in Melbourne. This role is being offered initially on a 12 month contract basis with extension to a permanent role expected for the right person, after this time.

Reporting to the CEO, this is a key leadership role within the Senior Executive Team, with a direct reporting role to the Board. You will have overarching responsibility for the organisation's ongoing operations and procedures, and set comprehensive goals for performance and growth that will set the business up for efficiency and future success. 

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, implementing and managing business strategies, plans and procedures;
  • Establishing policies that promote company culture and vision;
  • Overseeing daily operations of the Company and the work of the divisional General Managers of Product Development, Customer Delivery, Marketing, Sales and Finance;
  • Evaluating performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics; and
  • Assisting the CEO with matters of importance as required, including managing partner relationships and writing and submitting relevant reports.

What you need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you will have proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer or similar role within an executive team and a solid background working in a software development or technology related business.

With a strong commercial acumen, you will be comfortable working across all business functions, including HR, Finance and Marketing, and have demonstrated competency in Customer Relationship Management, strategic planning and business development.
