About the Opportunities

With 14 plants across Melbourne and a constant influx of work, Hanson is always on the lookout for motivated people to join the business.

Multiple opportunities now exist for Truck Drivers to join the Melbourne metro team.

Hanson Truck Drivers are primarily responsible for driving Concrete Agitators across metro Melbourne, performing multiple concrete deliveries each day. Key duties also include customer interaction while waiting for concrete to be unloaded, concrete slumping and pre-start vehicle checks.

These are full-time positions, working Monday - Friday, plus shortened Saturday hours. Daily start times will differ dependent upon scheduled work - flexibility will be required.

About You

Successful candidates will hold a current HR License, while an HC License will be highly regarded. Concrete Agitator experience is not required - extensive training will be provided.

You will however, require the following:

  • Demonstrated experience driving a heavy rigid vehicle;
  • Punctuality and a willingness to work the required hours, including frequent overtime;
  • A strong work ethic and dedication to getting the job done;
  • Basic mechanical knowledge (e.g. the ability to read and understand dash gauges);
  • An understanding of heavy vehicle fatigue management; and
  • A commitment to safety.

As this position involves a fair amount of wait time while concrete is used for each site job, it's important you be comfortable communicating with customers, workers and other stakeholders.

This role will be well suited to individuals looking to increase their income with extended overtime, or who simply enjoy being on the road day to day.
