B&N Glass & Aluminium (B&N) offer a wide range of window and door systems for both commercial and residential markets.
B&N's Head Office operates from a 1000m2 factory in North Mackay and they also have a second, North Queensland location based in Townsville. They aim to become the leaders in the glass and aluminium industry and to find new ways to become more efficient and innovative through the manufacture process and business development.
About the Opportunity
Due to an exciting growth period, B&N currently now has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team based in Mackay or Townsville, QLD.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the timely preparation of full-cost estimates for glass and aluminium projects in the Mackay/Townsville region. This position also takes responsibility for some overarching project management as required.
Your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders to gather all necessary information to ensure estimates are accurate;
- Networking with architects and building companies;
- Independently estimating glazing projects;
- Providing fabrication files to the factory manager;
- Providing technical support to the Site Foreman and Project Manager; and
- Negotiating tenders with clients on behalf of B&N.
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in an Estimating position, ideally within the glass and aluminium industry. Any knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to the glazing industry e.g. AS1288, AS1170, AS2047, and AS1428, as well as experience with Logikal or the V6 database, will be highly regarded.
Strong project management skills and the ability to oversee projects in the absence of and/or in conjunction with the B&N Project Managers, will also be a must.
