About the Opportunity

Our client now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Warehouse Manager to lead their Brisbane operations. You'll be overseeing two sites, with 15 direct reports and numerous casual staff members.

Reporting to National Warehousing Manager, this role will see you leading operational effectiveness with a focus on improvement, in addition to ensuring the highest possible level of customer satisfaction and service is delivered.

More specifically, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Receiving and coordinating customer stock, and processing customer orders using the Warehouse Management System (WMS);
  • Managing and training staff members, including performance management / improvement and implementing toolbox meetings;
  • Fostering and managing strong and lasting business relationships with new and existing customers (you'll be the first point of contact for operational queries);
  • Managing labour costs, ensuring quality objectives are met, and driving profitability;
  • Taking responsibility for stock layout and space utilisation; and
  • Driving staff communication and internal engagement, including regular forums for questions and updates.

About You

Our client is seeking an energetic and motivated individual with demonstrated warehousing experience (3PL experience not required) and some understanding of transport processes. You'll understand the processes involved in running a smooth operation and maintain a focus on championing the basic process in order to drive outcomes. Experience in process improvement will be essential, while a Degree in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded.

The successful candidate will be well versed in people management and experienced in the training of staff. The ability to communicate effectively with team members and drive engagement will be critical, as will an understanding of how to propel a positive organisational culture and working environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and a dedication to customer satisfaction will also set you up for success. 

Competency in the use of computer programs is also required, including proficiency in Excel. You'll have working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, with the ability to draw insights around what's working and what isn't - essentially, you'll be the 'go to' person when it comes to use of the system.

Importantly, you'll possess business and financial acumen, with a good mind around stock control and reconciliation. You'll also be process driven and detail oriented, with a desire to achieve consistent outcomes through effective planning and scheduling.
