About the Opportunity

St. George’s School is actively seeking two Custodians to join our maintenance team in Vancouver, BC. One position is for a full-time position with hours of 3 pm to 11.30pm Monday through Friday. The second position is for shift work of 32 hours a week, days and times TBD.

Reporting to the Custodial Night Supervisor and Head of Buildings, you will become part of an effective and cohesive team of maintenance and custodial professionals.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to guidelines and policies relating to maintenance and custodial use and management.
  • Cleaning and general upkeep of the School facilities.
  • General garbage pickup.
  • Assisting with office relocations as required.
  • Assisting with the setup for both internal and external functions (i.e. meetings, receptions, annual Fair, etc).
  • Adhering to Works Safe BC standards.
  • Helps support the maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Other duties as required by the maintenance team.

In order to qualify for this role, you will have successfully completed a BSW certification through a recognized school, know how to operate heavy machinery (i.e floor polishers, etc.) and have some previous experience working in either an academic or hospitality environment.

  • Some knowledge of WHMIS practices.

Please note you must also be able to lift 50bs and have a valid Class 5 or higher BC Driver’s License.
