About the Opportunity

The Tech Valet is currently seeking an adaptable and experienced Systems Administrator (Client Site Lead) for our offices in Vancouver, BC.

Working within a small, yet dynamic team, you'll be our “Go-To” for providing level 2+ systems support and maintenance of our managed technology including servers, networks, and related systems and applications all the while ensuring that our client environments and end-users are receiving white-glove IT support service.

Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with technical end-users and key stakeholders
  • Performing regular capacity and proactive performance assessments
  • Participating in an array of client projects including office moves, infrastructure deployments, and cloud service migrations such as Office 365.
  • Updating, creating and maintaining support documentation.
  • Assisting and mentoring junior members of the team with customer service tickets if needed
  • Exemplify a high degree of personal integrity and interpersonal skills and abilities
  • Providing a willingness to commit the additional time and effort necessary to meet project and client commitments including after-hours or weekend work as needed

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 3 years experience in an IT service provider role demonstrating excellent analytical, organizational, customer service and problem-solving aptitude. A degree or diploma in a related field will be considered an asset. 

As a strong communicator (both written and verbal), you will also demonstrate experience with: 

  • Direct client relationship management and engagement
  • Infrastructure support, implementations, upgrades, migrations and troubleshooting
  • Microsoft OS environments 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 server, Windows 7, 8, and 10
  • Server technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Servers, workstations, SANs, switches
  • LAN/WAN networking
  • Backup systems and procedures
  • Application software including Microsoft Office, Adobe and Citrix Receiver
  • Cloud applications including Office 365 and Azure
  • Virtualization technologies and concepts such as Hyper-V and VMWare ESXi
  • Powershell scripting

Our ideal candidate has previously worked within an external facing IT Services Team or Managed Services Provider (MSP), has experience deploying, maintaining, and supporting servers, network attached storage, and network devices. You will be passionate about customer service and relationships, have constantly improved your skills and certifications, and are looking for an opportunity to make a bigger impact and be part of a dynamic, growing team.
