About the Opportunity

Knauf Australia now has a full-time opportunity for an entry-level Information Systems (IS) Support Officer to join their team in Matraville, NSW.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing first and second level IS/IT support to all users in the Knauf Plasterboard BU and logging and managing user call queues whilst effectively communicating the status of user calls.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Providing first level and second level IS support to all networked users;
  • Maintaining Helpdesk reporting tools;
  • Providing a reliable and stable standard operating environment (SOE) on notebooks and desktops;
  • Ensuring all IS Helpdesk documentation is current and available;
  • Ensuring software installed is approved and licenced; 
  • Coordinating hardware repairs; and
  • Assisting with conducting timely and accurate hardware and software audits.

Who is Knauf Looking For?

To be successful in this role, candidates will need demonstrated experience in a Helpdesk / IS support role and exposure to or understanding of the following:

  • Windows XP, 7, 10;
  • MS Server 2008/12/16;
  • Active Directory;
  • MS Office 2010/16;
  • Lotus Notes;
  • Outlook;
  • Hardcat Helpdesk report tool; and
  • SOE Imaging.

In addition, you will be able to support a broad range of applications including network and hardware issues and troubleshooting.

It is essential that you are an exceptional communicator - you must be able to interact with a variety of people with patience, have the ability to explain issues clearly and simply, and have a friendly and approachable nature.

This is a very broad role where no two days will be the same. As such your ability to be agile, flexible, and adaptable will be crucial to your success in this role. As will your initiative, self-motivation, and team player attitude.
