The AusRegistry Production Support Group operates the .au DNS Registry and the Renewable Energy Certificate Registry. It also provides support to AusRegistry’s growing pool of domestic and international clients and acts as the company’s internal IT department.
Commitment to service quality, security and availability are essential to this role and the successful candidate is expected to be highly motivated, self-managed and deliver the desired outcome within reasonable deadlines.
The Role
The successful candidate at this role will administer and operate AusRegistry’s internal Windows systems including a mix of Windows 2003 and 2008 servers as well as providing an escalation point for desktop support supporting Windows desktops, laptops and other portable equipment such as iPhones. This role is also responsible for re-design and implementation of the Windows environment renewal including highly available Exchange server, file server, standard operating environment, software staging and roll out, backup and business continuity, automated configuration management and centralized deployment and audit services.
Key Skills and Experience
- 5+ years Windows engineering/administration experience
- Knowledge and experience with the following:
- Windows server 2003 and 2008
- Windows XP, Vista, 7
- Exchange server 2007 (including relevant MS Office 2007/2010 experience)
- IIS and IAS
- Windows deployment services
- Active Directory and Deployment via Group Policy
- Windows DNS and DHCP
- Windows Certificate services
- Hyper-V and other virtualisation platforms
- NT Backup
- Microsoft Powershell
- Confident around modern technology including servers and storage.
- Focused on the outcome for the team and the company
- Must be an excellent communicator, written and verbal
- Good mentoring skills
