Head Chef - Hill of Grace Restaurant

Position: Head Chef

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly passionate and driven Head Chef to showcase South Australia’s best food and wine at Hill of Grace Restaurant. Located at Adelaide Oval the restaurant offers diners an exceptional dining experience overlooking the hallowed turf, with a menu inspired by South Australia’s truly magnificent produce and ingredients. The menu is complemented by a wine list that features more than 160 premium SA wines, headlined by the namesake Henschke Hill of Grace.

Hill of Grace Restaurant offers both a la carte and degustation options. It is open for dinner five nights a week and lunch on Fridays as well as major event days.

Joining as Head Chef you will be responsible for:

  • The design and delivery of innovative, modern South Australian menus with a seasonal focus designed to enhance Henschke wines
  • Ensuring all food is prepared and presented to high standards with creativity and passion
  • Establishing mutually beneficial relationships with local South Australian suppliers
  • Leading and mentoring a talented team of 8 chefs
  • Comprehensive management of costings and kitchen reporting

  • The ability to have fun whilst dealing with high pressure workloads and tight deadlines
  • The ability to get the best out of their staff through strong, positive leadership
  • Excellent media & customer presentation skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative and innovative thinking, superior organisational and planning skills 

The successful applicant must have demonstrated experience in a Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine position. Applicants must have Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent trade qualification and possess a broader understanding of key business critical processes.
