Its prominent location as the centrepiece of the Adelaide CBD’s revitalised riverbank precinct, along with stunning panoramic views over the city, the Oval’s hallowed turf, St Peter’s Cathedral and beyond, makes Adelaide Oval an outstanding destination.
The Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority (AOSMA) is the organisation responsible for the management of the redeveloped Adelaide Oval precinct and is a joint venture between football (South Australian National Football League) and cricket (South Australian Cricket Association). The Oval, a world-class, multi-purpose 53-thousand seat stadium is Adelaide’s number one tourism destination attracting over 1.8 million visitors each year and is a significant contributor to the State’s tourism assets with the award winning RoofClimb and Stadium tours.
Adelaide Oval Ambassador - Volunteer Role
The tours and museums are essential to ensuring this iconic, world class stadium can be experienced and enjoyed by visitors from near and far throughout the year. Adelaide Oval Ambassadors help by conducting tours of the Adelaide Oval, providing information to visitors and assisting in the supervision of the Bradman Collection on loan from the State Library of South Australia.
What you need to know
As an Adelaide Oval Ambassador you will need to have understanding of the structure and history of cricket and football in South Australia and Adelaide Oval. We will provide you with training and orientation to develop your knowledge and skills.
Being an Ambassador with Adelaide Oval enables you to work in an amazing environment with friendly, like-minded people. You may be taking tours for the general public, school groups or various community groups.
Your role as a volunteer may include the following tasks:
- Delivering interactive, engaging and informative 90 minute walking tours of Adelaide Oval.
- Initiating the “meet and greet” at the commencement of the tour.
- Engaging visitors and presenting information about the history and development of Adelaide Oval.
- Supervision of the Bradman Collection as required.
- And most importantly, having fun!
Shifts are usually approximately 3 hours in duration and our volunteer Ambassadors are expected to be available for a minimum of one shift per week (exceptions for travel, illness etc.). Shift availability is structured in blocks of time:
- AM shift = 7am - 12pm
- PM shift = 12pm - 5pm
- AH = 5pm onward

All applicants will undergo a screening process including interview and reference checks to ascertain suitability for the role. Applicants will be required to undergo a Working With Children Check (which can be provided by Adelaide Oval) prior to commencing in the role. Ambassadors are to be at least 18 years of age. Ambassadors are to attend and complete orientation, induction and on-site training as required. A minimum of 3 hour commitment per week - weekend and after hour shifts available.
