In joining the Oval Hotel team, you are part of a vibrant organisation that encompasses all of these brands and oversees hospitality services for several offsite venues including Monarto Safari Park, Koffee Ink, and the Malt Shovel Taphouse.

Chef de Partie (Full-Time)

Playing an integral role in kitchen team, the Chef de Partie will assist with food service operations for the Oval Hotel including our our new food destinations 5 Regions Restaurant and Bespoke Wine Bar & Kitchen as well as the Stadium Club (on major event days), plus 24-hour Room Service.

Your ability to celebrate seasonal degustation in 5 Regions Restaurant and contemporary dining options in Bespoke Wine Bar & Kitchen will be reflective of your creative culinary skills that showcase the depth and variety of local SA produce.

To be successful in this position, you will be passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences through food and have personal drive to support a high achieving kitchen team.

What you'll be doing

  • Delivering food offerings from casual to fine dining, as well as buffets, banquets and other contemporary menus.
  • Providing food services to a world class standard.
  • Provide leadership, training and coaching to junior chefs, cooks and apprentices.
  • Personal compliance of AOSMA responsibilities within Responsible Service of Alcohol, WHS, HACCP and other house policies.

 Your Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years experience as a qualified Chef and 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Great working knowledge of the Food & Beverage industry (experience in convention, entertainment, five start or casino environment will be an advantage).
  • Trade qualifications as well as a Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Experience in working in areas such as a la carte dining, and fine dining.
  • Strong leadership skills with the passion to further grow and develop your career. 
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to be effective under pressure.
  • Solid understanding of compliance obligations including WHS and Food and Beverage practices.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated attitude with a strong work ethic. 
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to work in busy and fast paced restaurant environments.
