About the Role

Reporting to the Sanitation Manager, the Team Leader will be responsible for supervising sanitation work throughout the facility and performs a full range of sanitation functions in a food production plant and maintains a high standard of cleanliness in compliance with GMP, safety and quality standards.

 Working Hours/Shift

The role is predominantly night shift, however, you will need to be flexible with your availability as the position may vary to meet production demands & schedules.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Full understanding of cleaning operations and of all equipment in a bakery environment
  • Maintain accurate sanitation records e.g. (Daily Job sheets, Sieve screen inspections, Pheromones, Insectocutors)
  • Operate clean in place (CIP) systems
  • Disassemble/resemble and clean/sanitize machine parts and other equipment
  • Responsible for all sanitation duties around the plant
  • Ensure all safety, quality, people and operational issues are to be reported to the Sanitation Manager.
  • Assist in the training
  • 2IC to the Sanitation Manager and supports in planning, directing and coordinating the environmental health, food safety, quality and legal compliance and people safety programs and initiatives.

 

About You

  • Food Manufacturing/Industry experience is a must.
  • You must demonstrate 3-5 years in a supervisory role; leading and directing teams
  • Ability to prioritise and knowledge of the lean principles.
  • HACCAP knowledge minimum but SQF preferable
  • Level of physical fitness and resilience; able to lift 25 kg and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Experience, willingness and availability to work in a shift environment;
  • A good eye for detail and the ability to work quickly at a constant pace and be part of a team;
  • Effective Communication – liaising with other departmental team leaders to ensure a smooth work flow.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to use initiative.
  • Understanding and application of all safety procedures.
  • Good written, numeracy and oral communication skills (read MSDS and follow instructions).
