An exceptional opportunity has become available for a Facilities/Projects Engineer to join the team at ARYZTA NSW on a full time basis.

Key Responsibilities

The role is a mix of strategic & operational responsibilities, which predominantly involves the premises, site security and services such as refrigeration, lighting, ventilation, compressed air, wastewater, utilities in line with Australian standards and local and statutory regulations. The incumbent will be focusing on using best business practice to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs and improve productivity.

You will manage and report on:

Facilities Management

  • All facility repairs and maintenance against budget and forecast
  • Maintain comprehensive and complete records: including purchase orders; equipment manuals; capital expenditure requests; contractor documentation and verifications and appropriate maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure corrective and preventative action plans are executed efficiently
  • Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are implemented and maintained
  • Manage all contractors and work permits and drive continuous improvement
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with the consequences


  • Responsible for management of assigned capital projects through the full project life cycle from business case development through to commissioning and project handover.
  • Develop all necessary project documentation required for both initiation of the project and ongoing management.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Prepare and distribute associated communications documents.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage the capital expenditure to ensure timely completion within agreed budgetary guidelines.
  • Report on project spend and projected cash flow on a regular basis. Ensure other areas of the business have the required visibility over financials including actual spend and monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Management of project risks, including preparation and submission of a Risk Management Plan and a Risk Action Plan for personnel and food safety.
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines deliverable and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation.

You will have strong communication and be an influencer, having the ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You must possess strong administration and reporting skills coupled with organisation and demonstrated care and respect across all departments.

  • Pro-active attitude with the ability to resolve complex technical issues and offer guidance to ensure any breakdowns are resolved quickly.
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully managing and completing multiple capital projects
  • Exposure to a Computerised Maintenance Management System and be comfortable with reliability methodologies
  • Tertiary Qualifications – recent Graduate in Engineering or at least five years of related bakery or food Maintenance experience or equivalent that includes fostering safety in the team as a priority
