About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Production Manager – Cake Room to join the team in Liverpool. This role presents an excellent leadership development opportunity for someone who is ready to take that next step in their career.

The Production Manager will be responsible for the day to day management and coordination of Frozen operations including production, quality, people, maintenance and sanitation, consistent with delivering and improving the facility’s performance in baking output, inventory variance, regulatory requirements and labour.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Coordination and Planning of activities (process, engineering and sanitation) and resources within the Cakeroom.

  • Ensuring supervision across the Cakeroom production team
  • Assist with the planning, direction and coordination of the bakery production process to meet stakeholder expectations
  • Assist with fulfillment of daily production requirements including coordinating daily production and staffing schedules
  • Prepare and maintain necessary production, receiving and inventory records/reports
  • Acts on behalf of Plant Manager in their absence and supports them in planning, directing and coordinating the environmental health, food safety, quality and legal compliance as well as people safety programs and initiatives
  • Communicates with the Plant Manager informing on all significant actions and/or problems and assists with the resolution of all production problems to ensure a continuous flow of quality product
  • Review all safety requirements, accidents and concerns with the Production Manager
  • Review the Master Sanitation Schedule with Sanitation Manager
  • Ensure housekeeping during production schedules to maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Apply knowledge of production efficiencies and rates and ensure process flow is set up to achieve targets, oversees set-up & organisation of manufacturing equipment

 You will possess

A thorough and detailed understanding of Bakery operations and food manufacturing requirements including:

  • The ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality
  • The willingness to learn, improve and adapt
  • Possess relevant IT skills in basic MS Office applications - outlook, excel & word in particular and working knowledge or business ERP systems
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking and planning abilities and
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
