Senior Psychologist - Diagnostic Services

Autism SA is a leading provider of services to individuals and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Australia and is seeking to employ a part time Senior Psychologist (0.2 FTE- 1 day per week -Wednesday) as a part of the Clinical Support Services - Diagnostic Services team.

The role is responsible and accountable for:

  • Assisting to coordinate caseloads and prioritise referrals in accordance with established procedures and principles through negotiation to maximise the use of available resources in consultation with the relevant Senior Clinician
  • The application of clinical experience and professional competence to plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive and integrated range of services appropriate to the needs of the clients and their families/carers
  • Applying clinical experience and professional competence to deliver therapy and intervention services for individuals and their families that reflect current international recommendations for best practice in the area of therapy and intervention – dependent on the area of primary service delivery
  • Applying clinical experience and professional competence to deliver assessment services for individuals suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families that reflect current international recommendations for best practice in the area of assessment and diagnosis- dependent on the area of primary service delivery
  • Contributing to the clinical supervision and support of less experienced staff or students
  • Participating in a clinical capacity to ensure the achievement of organisational goals in relation to staff development and service delivery
  • Participating in training for other professionals in the areas of expertise relating to the role
  • Working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, which may include service providers from other sectors
  • Independently applying professional knowledge and judgement when performing novel, complex or critical tasks specific to the discipline or areas of expertise relating to the role

The position is a contracted position until 30/6/18 with the possibility of extension.

The role will be based at Netley.
