ABOUT THE ROLE

A full time Research Assistant or junior Post Doctoral Fellow position is available within the Crabb/Gilson Malaria Group. • Various biochemical approaches will be used to analyse parasite proteins and so skills in western blot techniques, recombinant protein expression and other protein based techniques is preferable.
  • Fluorescence microscopy will be an important approach used to study parasites and experience in the fixing and antibody labelling of cells as well as in microscopy methods is preferable.
  • Drug based growth inhibition assays of parasites are routinely performed and knowledge of these techniques is preferable.
