Salary:  $940.70 - $988.35 + $15.00 industry allowance per week + super (further salary progression available)

Position Status: Permanent full-time 

Hours of work: 38 hour week with RDO every third week

About the Role 

Council is currently seeking applications for the position of Water Filtration Plant Operator in the Water and Waste Section of Council’s Engineering Services Department. 

The successful applicant will become a member of a small team who will operate Council’s water filtration plant, dams, reservoirs and water pumping stations, ensuring that the agreed levels of service, statutory requirements, and the ongoing requirements of the Drinking Water Management System are met. The successful applicant will carry out a diverse range of duties over a wide area.

 

Key requirements:  
  • To effectively and efficiently operate and maintain the Water Filtration Plant, Reservoirs and Water Pumping Stations in accordance with the Drinking Water Management System
  • Ensure that all statutory and regular monitoring is undertaken and all data is correctly collated and presented
  • Ensure that the Water Filtration Plant and Reservoirs and Pump system meet the agreed levels of service, as described in Council's Strategic Business Plan, and all work is carried out safely.
