About the role:

 

Work closely with the National Head of our Banking and Finance team. You will be responsible for:

 

  • Working with clients on banking and finance matters across a variety of transactions and industry sectors
  • Assist advising banks and borrowers on property, asset and structured finance, project and acquisition finance, bilateral and syndicated lending and ISDA documentation
  • Drafting a broad range of finance and security documents that capture the context of the matter with a commercial approach
  • Managing a robust workload, including prioritising work and delivering services effectively
  • Developing an understanding of client operations and strategy
  • Managing prospective client relationships and taking active steps to develop those relationships
  • Continual professional development and managing CPD requirements
  • Reviewing developing case law and legislative changes

 

The successful candidate:

You will be supported in this close knit team, with mentoring and guidance from your leader. You will need to be self-motivated, have the capacity to work autonomously and within a team, and be adaptable in this dynamic environment. You will be seeking an opportunity to break out from the pack and take your career to the next level. Ideal background and skills include:

 

  • Ideally 3-6 years' PAE with a banking and finance background
  • Training in a strong mid or top tier firm
  • Strong technical experience with great stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • A good working knowledge of the Corporations Act and the Personal Property Securities Act
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Client relationship focused and committed to establishing a long-term, successful career
  • Ability to relate to people at all levels and effectively work in a team
  • Capacity to handle yourself well in large and small meeting situations
  • Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines and manage time
  • Commercial acumen
  • Practical problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An interest in business development
  • Welcome an opportunity to travel interstate on transactions
