City of Newcastle (CN) has an opportunity for an experienced people-focused Partnership Facilitator to join the Libraries and Learning team. You will bring experience and drive for innovative community collaboration, strong project management skills and the ability to provide a positive stakeholder management experience to the community.

The role is focused on delivering and fostering diverse library partnerships with external organisations to deliver on outreach and maker space activation priorities. You will be at the forefront of building Newcastle Libraries' collaboration and innovation culture. In addition, you will also support whole of service community partnership’s administration to ensure the effective delivery of community lead library programs within council guidelines.

You will be abreast of current library and creative industry trends, and actively drive innovation and service improvement initiatives within the Community Programs, Outreach and Partnerships service streams consistent with the strategic directions of the Council 2030 and Library objectives.

This position provides high quality library customer service to the community face-to-face, over the telephone and online, and entails a prescribed level of frontline shifts across a 6-day (Monday-Saturday) day and evening roster.

To be successful in this job you need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Sciences, Community or Cultural development, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management and partnership delivery with skills in undertaking research, planning, implementation and evaluation of collaborative projects.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with experience in the preparation and presentation to a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated negotiation, interpersonal, time management and project management skills and the ability to determine priorities and manage competing demands.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing ideas to engage a wide range of audiences and service providers.
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently and a proven ability to collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Extensive customer focused experience in a library, cultural, creative industries or community service setting.
  • Working with Children Check.

Desirable:

  • Ability to speak and write in second language.

Remuneration:  $70,202 + 9.5% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week.
