City of Newcastle (CN) is seeking a dedicated and customer service oriented Storeperson to maintain the mechanical workshop at the CN Depot in Waratah. Reporting to the Workshop Coordinator, you will maintain the workshop store with relevant spare parts and materials, PPE, tools, and general consumables.

Assisting tradespeople and team leaders as required, you will also be responsible for ordering materials when stock is low, processing documents and invoices for incoming parts, maintaining SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for hazardous products, and ensuring the workshop is clean and tidy, amongst other duties.

To be successful in this job you will be a motivated team player, who is able to follow the instructions of a supervisor and carry out duties with minimal supervision, to a high standard. You will have a current Class C Driver’s License, knowledge of purchasing and cataloguing systems, inventory control procedures and store management, and SDS for hazardous products. Additionally, you will have excellent customer service and communication skills, and will be proficient with Microsoft Office, Chemwatch and FMIS.
