About the Opportunity

DeLaval Pty Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Specialists. This role will be based in Australia.

This position's primary aim is to provide a wide range of technical support and advice to DeLaval's dealers

While there is no 'typical' day in this position, the tasks you may complete include:

  • Resolving technical issues;
  • Providing technical support and advice as required;
  • Accompanying dealers to farms; and
  • Providing training on technical process and new product use.

This is a role in which problem solving is key. You'll be able to independently troubleshoot mechanical and automation problems and their causes and then fix them in an efficient manner. Excellent time management skills are key to this, as you'll often need to prioritise tasks to ensure their completion. In the dairy industry, new products are constantly becoming available, so you'll also need to be a quick learner, keeping up-to-date with technologies and their quirks to provide support to DeLaval dealers.

Your diverse background will include a good working knowledge of and experience in using a wide variety of tools. As someone who's there to get the job done, you'll enjoy the satisfaction of fixing challenging problems, and bring a calm, 'can do' attitude to any task you're faced with, big or small. These personality traits will be the key to your success in this position, as you'll often be working autonomously and without direct supervision.

Electrical qualifications are preferred for this role, although candidates with limited registration may also be considered. An interest in the dairy industry will also be advantageous.

The position will require you to give one-on-one training as well as group presentations, so it's essential that you have strong verbal communication skills. Working on-site with dealers and in the presence of customers, you'll use your strong people skills and professional attitude to give valuable best-practice advice.

You'll have the opportunity to travel domestically for up to 60 nights per year, as well as overseas on occasion to undertake technical training and therefore the ability to be flexible to travel at short notice as well as holding a current passport and driver's licence are essential.
