About the Opportunities

DeLaval has 2 exciting opportunities for experienced, enthusiastic, high-energy and high-performing Sales Managers to join their team. Both are full-time positions with one based in our Westmeadows Melbourne, Office and the other based in Hamilton, NZ office. In these roles, you will draw on your successful and effective management skills to develop DeLaval's commercial interests within the assigned country, by building and maintaining effective relationships with dealers as well as prospective and existing clients and partners. Reporting to the Sales Management Director Oceania, you'll ensure the continued growth and success of this market leader, with a focus on exceeding sales objectives.

 
More specifically, your duties will include:

  • Successful development, communication and execution of annual territory plan allining with AU/NZ strategy;
  • Managing the territory sales teams to deliver agreed targets;
  • Create and maintain a productive working environment where the efficiency of the team is improved;
  • Contribute to annual AU/NZ marketing strategy, including all promotional activites scheduled;
  • Prepare an annual budget and create and deliver monthly management reports;
  • Ensure timely delivery of specifications, pricing and works.

 

The successful candidates will have significant experience in managing successful sales teams in a regional or district capacity. A tertiary qualification in a relevant area would be looked upon favourably, but is not essential.

You'll be a strategic thinker and use your marketing and sales management skills to build successful client relationships, and recognise new business opportunities. Experience within the dairy industry or an Agri business will be looked upon favourably.

You will be a sales and service-focused team player with a demonstrated ability to build, motivate and lead a cohesive team. This will include coaching and conducting regular training with staff and dealers.

Relationship management is an integral part of this role, as is a deep understanding of indirect selling methods. As an experienced sales professional, you will be resilient and have the ability to stand up for your product and tactfully overcome objections to close the sale.

Importantly, you'll use your sound negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with all internal and external stakeholders. These skills will aid you in liaising with and motivating DeLaval's administration and sales staff to resolve issues and keep tasks on track.

Intermediate computer literacy along with a solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products is essential to your success.
