About the Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a talented individual with 1 to 2 years experience to join the Flight Centre Limited Finance team as an Area Accountant on a full time basis.
Based at our office in Perth's CBD, the role includes but is not limited to:
- Reconciliation and internal audit of all client accounts on a rotational basis
- Preparation of monthly financial statements and management accounts
- Analysis and interpretation of monthly results and follow up on significant variances
- Assisting Team Leaders with the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCL minimum standards for financial systems and processes
- Training of financial systems and processes on shop visits if required
- Assisting with special projects and the implementation of systems and process improvement initiatives from time to time
- Providing commercial input including revenue generation opportunities, cost reduction, productivity improvement, and other value added initiatives
- Attendance at conferences/planning days
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a high level of financial control within the area
- Improve financial acumen of consultants in the area through Team Leader and Future Team Leader training sessions
- Ensure operations leader has timely and accurate financial data available to enable decision making in the area

- Completed Business/Commerce degree
- Strong customer focus and teamwork skills

- Ability to work autonomously
- High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change and a pressured work environment
- Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills with ability to develop relationships at all levels
- Proven time management and organisational skills
