The Full Time equivalent Base Salary for this role is $80,000 - $87,000 per annum (dependent on experience, skills and capabilities) plus 11.5% Superannuation + Smart Salary Packaging Benefit. (Pro-Rata will be calculated for part-time employment)

The Opportunity: 

Our Consumer and Community Involvement (CCI) Program supports the integration of consumer and community member involvement in health and medical research by supporting and facilitating meaningful partnerships between researchers and consumers to inform the work of The George Institute. 

We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to support the implementation of the CCI Strategy, be the main contact point for consumers and community members, and actively support our Consumer and Community Advisory Committee and Consumer and Community Network. 

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Provide operational support for the development and implementation of the CCI Strategy for the Institute.
  • Co-ordinate, co-facilitate and evaluate learning opportunities for researchers.
  • Work collaboratively with a range of external key stakeholders including consumer organisations and official representatives, university partners, and government officials.
  • Compile and keep up-to-date information on CCI activities across the Institute.
  • Conduct desktop research e.g. identifying relevant resources to support CCI.
  • Lead internal and external enquiries and effective communications for the CCI Program.
  • Conduct literature searches and produce summary tables, and prepare CCI documents and website information.

Our Successful Candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a health, science or related discipline or a combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills to liaise with a variety of people in a wide range of settings.
  • Excellent written language communication skills and ability to draft a wide range of documents.
  • Demonstrated organisational, priority setting, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive approach to work, the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with sourcing, collecting and collating information and producing summary reports in tabular and written forms.
  • Ability to conduct desktop research including literature searches.
  • Ability to work well independently, within a team and with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong focus on quality of work and maintenance of records.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational priorities and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft suite of packages including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience working with health consumers, consumer organisations and other relevant stakeholders, within a health/medical research setting, and working with complex databases would be advantageous.
