TGI Summary
We have an exciting Scholarship opportunity for a full-time PhD candidate to undertake research on the impact of post sepsis syndrome on domains of life, healthcare access and support needs of survivors and their families. Despite sepsis affecting 49 million people globally each year and causing 11 million deaths, most health services and research has focused on the acute illness. There has been little attention paid to sepsis survivorship that provides culturally appropriate, holistic family centred care after hospital discharge. The research will involve a range of mixed methods, including surveys, interviews and focus groups.
