The Critical Care Program (CC) has established an international track record in programs of Critical Care research including high-quality, large-scale, randomized controlled trials, cohort and observational studies.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Research Contracts Manager to oversee and optimise the preparation, negotiation, execution and management of agreements to support the program.
In this role you will collaborate with our Critical Care team managing relationships and collaborating across various research activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Be the key liaison between the TGI legal team, Critical Care Program team members and external stakeholders in relation to contractual matters.
Lead the review and negotiation of a range of agreements, ensuring they meet the organisation’s needs and comply with the Institute’s policies and procedures, funder requirements, and relevant industry codes and standards.
Manage contractual amendments, renewals, and termination, as needed.
Collaborate with the TGI legal team to address legal issues and concerns.
Prepare and negotiate agreement budgets.
Monitor contract performance and compliance, ensuring that relevant parties fulfill their obligations.
Maintain a record of agreements and related documents.
Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to enable efficient and streamlined contract management processes.
Liaise with TGI legal to identify key legal risks and obtain recommendations on risk management to minimise exposure and provide guidance regarding this to the relevant Critical Care Program team members
Actively develop and promote the desired culture of The George Institute by ensuring all interactions, documentation and communication are conducted in a manner which supports the stated mission.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience/ Our Successful Candidate
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
Significant experience in contract management within the healthcare or medical research sector.
A strong understanding of clinical research processes and related regulatory requirements, data privacy (particularly in key jurisdictions such as Australia, India and the UK), and general commercial matters, with demonstrated experience in contract review and negotiation.
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively manage diverse internal and external partnership environments successfully.
Strong problem solving, analytical skills and strategic thinking.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Strong focus on quality of work.
Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the Internet.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational priorities and ambiguous environments.
Flexibility to work non-standard hours of work for collaboration and contact with global teams based on requirements of the position.
