We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive HR professional to join our Australian HR team.

 

The Opportunity: 

The HR Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Australian HR team by providing general HR advice to employees and students and managing daily administrative tasks. They are responsible for maintaining and improving HR administrative processes, ensuring they are efficient and effective. The role also involves identifying and resolving issues or escalating them when necessary. Additionally, the HR Coordinator contributes to both local and global HR projects and supports initiatives aligned with the organization’s people strategy.

 

 Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Support administrative aspects of the recruitment process and filling in for the Recruitment Coordinator during periods of leave or peak recruitment
  • Prepare contracts, variation letters, salary adjustments and agreements for various employment types ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies
  • Maintain regular HR compliance checks, verify data accuracy across systems and review processes for ongoing relevance and efficiency
  • Manage onboarding activities including documentation, HRIS data entry, buddy program coordination and new hire events
  • Facilitate termination processes, ensure documentation is completed and conduct exit interviews when required
  • Provide general HR guidance to employees and students escalating complex issues appropriately
  • Support WHS initiatives, coordinate the WHS Committee and assist with safety and workers compensation tasks
  • Provide support for payroll processing and related tasks as needed
  • Maintain and update HR intranet content ensuring accuracy and relevant
  • Assist with HR events and initiatives including remuneration reviews and performance cycles
  • Generate and maintain accurate HR reports to support decision making
  • Collaborate on and lead improvements to HR administrative processes
  • Work with international colleagues accommodating time zones to ensure effective communication and coordination

Skills, Knowledge and Experience/ Our Successful Candidate  

  • Tertiary qualifications in a HR or related degree, with an understanding of the Australian industrial legislative framework and application of modern awards or ability to develop understanding quickly
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a HR Assistant or Coordinator role
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise work based on impact
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment legislation landscape
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service orientation, developed through experience in customer/client-facing roles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff and students at all levels of the organisation
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook
  • High level of attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to review work to ensure accuracy
  • Proactive, can-do attitude, with the ability to take initiative and drive tasks to completion
  • Aptitude for managing sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours of work for collaboration and contact with global teams based on requirements of the position
