About the role

Haymes Paint are proud distributors of premium brand architectural and decorative surface coatings as well as a distributor of market leading Automotive and Industrial finishes

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated, talented Sales assistant with a “hands on” approach to become a member of the Haymes Team in our Norwood store.

The role is offered on a full time basis working to a structured yet flexible roster, including some Saturday shifts.

Experience in automotive paint and/or industrial paint will be highly regarded.

                                                                                                    Duties involve:

  • Advising customers in store and by phone on Auto/Industrial products
  • Timely and accurate preparation of paint orders for Automotive, Industrial and Trade customers
  • Building strong relationships with all customers in store
  • Making local deliveries to trade customers
  • Supporting the Haymes sales team in a busy trade and retail business
  • Assisting in trade and retail sales of Haymes Range of surface coatings
  • Acquiring knowledge and skill sets relevant to the selling and distribution Architectural and decorative surface coatings and relevant products
  • Participating in ongoing training and education on all products distributed by Haymes PaintRight

The successful applicant will have:

  • Proven experience in automotive paint colour mixing and matching and subsidiary products
  • An understanding of auto paint preparation and application methods
  • A genuine desire to deliver a high level of customer service
  • Intermediate computer skills (an advantage not essential)
  • Well developed communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • The ability to work and contribute effectively within a team
  • Successful completion of Year 11 or relevant experience
  • Unencumbered drivers licence
  • Willingness to embrace the Haymes Values
