We are seeking to appoint an experienced TEAM MANAGER to join the team in the Peel / South West region

About the role

As the TEAM MANAGER you will take a high profile leadership role in the development of services and management of the team in the Peel and South West regions. You will provide line management, and supervision, to the team to ensure that high quality, culturally responsive practice in line with Key Assets Vision and Values. You will also participate as a member of the Key Assets WA Leadership team.

 

Key Components of the role:

  • To provide line management, professional supervision and leadership to the local team of Social Workers, Support Workers and Therapy staff
  • To take a lead responsibility for the provision of a range of high quality, child safe, culturally responsive services integrated into the community, in partnership with other agencies.
  • To take the initiative in identifying and responding to new business opportunities in the region, with the support of the Director/Assistant Director.
  • To build a close and effective working relationship with partner agencies and participate in managing the formal partnerships Key Assets has established.
  • To actively engage with the Peel and South West community, working through local networks and with local organisations to raise the profile of Key Assets and identifying opportunities for joint working.

 

Qualities, Experience and Skills Required

  • Qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the AASW
  • Leadership, management and supervisory experience
  • Expertise and commitment to developing a team and service
  • Around 5 years’ experience in a children and family setting of which two years must have been gained working in child protection and/or out of home care.
  • Be able to show initiative and to work independently.
  • Strong ability to create and maintain sustainable relationships with stakeholders and capacity to develop networks on behalf of the agency.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to children’s services, and a sound understanding of child safe practices and procedures.

HOURS: Full Time = 37.5 hrs/wk, flexibility is required due to travel (as some positions will work and travel within the community), 'Casual' - Hours are needs based. Hours are also not consistent / regular at times.

COMMENCEMENT: Occurs when all statutory and personal checks have been satisfactorily completed. Departmental checks may take up to 28 business days to process which can cause delays in commencement.
