About the Role

We are looking for an energetic, and creative cook to join our team.  While supporting our kitchen team, you will be accountable for day-to-day kitchen operations while ensuring the provision of safe- high quality catering experiences for The Landings residents in our dining room, café, bar, and event spaces. We pride ourselves on our 5 Star service we like to provide our residents. If you have worked in a 5-star environment, fine dining restaurants or in restaurants, please apply. This role is a Part Time Position offering 30 hours per week.

  • The efficient and timely preparation of meals
  • Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness of kitchen
  • Adherence to HACCP and LDK policies
  • Compliance to accreditation standards
  • Restaurant, special events, bar and café services - overseeing food elements
  • Daily monitoring of food safety and general OH&S
  • Total stock management including ordering, stock rotation, stock taking
  • Managing maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Manage the Kitchen in the absence of the executive chef

 

 

About you

  • Strong customer service ethos and empathy for the elderly
  • Are passionate about food and providing excellent service
  • Committed to providing excellent service delivery with a keen eye for detail
  • Enthusiasm for continuous improvement
  • Thorough knowledge of catering principles and their application
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated OH&S experience
  • Has worked in a similar role in the past and has worked in a restaurant or fine dining setting
  • Works well in a Team

 

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications/Certificates

  • Current trade qualification (Cert III in Commercial Cookery) or a hospitality qualification
  • Food safety supervisor certification
  • First Aid & CPR certificate

 

Professional Experience

  • Catering and cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, or retirement village
  • Menu planning and development
  • Team development 
  • Management of Cost of Sales and Payroll budgets
