About the role 

As a Registered Nurse you will be required to deliver nursing care to village residents, including those requiring higher levels of care such as dementia and palliative care services. You will supervise Personal Care Assistants on shift, providing them with clinical leadership. Most importantly, you will be an advocate and promote the LDK values of Love, Decency and Kindness.

LDK offers an hourly rate of $50 per hour based on experience. We are looking for 2 Permanent Part Time Registered Nurse.

Shift times are: 

  • Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday 2.30pm to 11pm (3 shifts per week)
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 2.30pm to 10.30pm (4 days a week)

Skills and experience

  • Deliver direct and comprehensive nursing care to village residents.
  • Promote and deliver a holistic approach to care, focusing on the needs and rights of village residents in accordance with Consumer Directed Care (CDC) principles, including:
    • Assessment, prevention, early detection, referral and health promotion;
    • Quality customer care;
  • Provide comprehensive, safe and effective evidence-based care to achieve identified individual health outcomes.
  • Provide education to village residents oriented towards the promotion of health improvements.  
  • Provide support, direction and education to shift care team (EN & Personal Care Assistants) including newer or less experienced staff.
  • Provide clinical leadership for the shift care team including:
    • Attending to incidents or issues requiring clinical escalation;
    • Ensuring compliance with incident reporting processes; and
    • Escalating issues to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
