About the Role
The Care Governance Operations Officer is a senior Registered Nurse role responsible for supporting the operationalisation of clinical governance and care compliance within the Home Care Program across LDK Seniors' Living villages. This role provides expert nursing guidance, coaching, and quality oversight to ensure village care teams operate in alignment with the Aged Care Quality Standards, legislative obligations, and internal governance frameworks.
Working closely with the Care Governance Manager, this role serves as a pivotal link between the National Care Team and operational care staff at the village level. The successful candidate will bring senior nursing experience, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a collaborative mindset to support and uplift the capability of frontline care teams.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and monitoring of LDK’s clinical governance framework across LDK care services.
- Provide oversight, coaching and support to village care teams.
- Ensure consistent adherence to the Aged Care Quality Standards, Home Care Packages (HCP) regulatory requirements, and best-practice clinical procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and readiness of villages for accreditation, audits, and external reviews.
- Mentor and coach care team leaders and village nurses to uplift clinical decision-making and documentation standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability in care delivery.
- Conduct on-site support visits to LDK villages to assess compliance, review practices, and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the National Care Team and Village Managers to resolve identified care risks or gaps in governance.
- Participate in care incident reviews, complaints analysis, and root cause investigations where needed.
- Foster strong working relationships with multidisciplinary village teams, clinical leaders, and support services.
- Travel to LDK villages in LDK Villages as required to conduct compliance support activities and in-person training. This role is based in Canberra.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Registered Nurse with current registration with AHPRA.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership in aged care, home care or community nursing.
- Strong understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and regulatory framework.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a supportive and collaborative approach.
- Willingness to travel intermittently to village locations.
- Passion for improving the quality of care and life for older Australians.
- High attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate well with remote and face to face teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant clinical documentation systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote national team.
