LDK Seniors' Living’s newest premium village, Amberfield, is located on Cotter Road in Weston, in Canberra’s inner south. It is a short driving distance to Yarralumla, Curtin and Woden town centre. About the Role

Join our award-winning hospitality team at Amberfield Village, a premier aged care community known for its luxurious surroundings, exceptional cuisine, and values-driven culture of Love, Decency & Kindness. We are looking to welcome a Chef to join our team and bring along their creativity, and precision to our 5-star kitchen team. You’ll take responsibility for our ClubHouse Cafe, prioritising breakfast and lunch service, working closely with the Executive Chef to deliver restaurant-quality meals that surprise and delight both residents and guests.

This is an opportunity to refine your craft in a supportive, high-performing kitchen — no split shifts, just dream working hours from 8am - 1pm in a stunning, purpose-built facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook dishes assigned to your station, ensuring quality presentation and consistency.
  • Demonstrate a 5-star restaurant standard of customer service, going above and beyond the expected outcome for residents and guests.
  • Actively role model quality hygiene and food safety principles, undertaking general cleaning duties within all areas of the kitchen.
  • Supervise and assist junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Undertake general pantry duties including handling, storing and distributing a variety of goods.
  • Monitor food costs and waste, contributing to efficient kitchen operations.
  • Be fluent in writing prep and order lists daily

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher (required)
  • Three years post-qualification experience or similar.
  • High-level competency in all aspects of cooking within a section.
  • Demonstrated understanding of food handling and hygiene principles.
  • Knowledge of State Food Safety Regulations (or willingness and ability to learn).
  • Awareness of the dietary requirements of the elderly (desirable)
  • Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
