About the Role

The Cyber Security Specialist is responsible for establishing, coordinating, and delivering LDK’s Cyber Security Program, supporting the organisation’s transition from basic to intermediate cyber security maturity. This role ensures that LDK’s systems, data, and digital platforms are protected against cyber threats while enabling safe, reliable, and efficient care delivery for residents and staff. The role focuses on practical cyber security uplift across identity security, Microsoft security platforms, endpoint, network and email protection, backup resilience, vendor risk management, and governance, aligned with LDK’s Cyber Security Strategy, 180 day Action Plan, and Board expectations.

Please note this position is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and operate the LDK Cyber Security Program under PMO governance
  • Lead rollout of mandatory Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) for priority systems
  • Optimise use of Microsoft Defender across endpoint, identity and email
  • Strengthen protections against phishing and Business Email Compromise (BEC)
  • Validate backup and recovery arrangements for critical systems (eCase, EEVI, Cisco Meraki, Salesforce, Microsoft365/EmtraID,Xero etc.) pick one of this.
  • Establish a baseline vendor security assurance framework
  • Coordinate internal and external cyber security assessments, create report of findings of assessments
  • Develop incident response playbooks (e.g. BEC, ransomware, vendor breach), create Incident Response Plan
  • Establish and maintain security oversight of ICT asset inventory, including hardware and software assets
  • Define and maintain network security standards and baseline controls in collaboration with ICT Operations.

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in cyber security, information security, or security engineering roles
  • Strong experience in Microsoft‑centric environments (Entra ID, Defender, Microsoft 365)
  • Practical experience implementing MFA, identity controls, endpoint and email security
  • Experience working with third‑party SaaS platforms and vendors
  • Experience in healthcare, aged care, or regulated environments (highly regarded)
  • Experience defining or governing network security controls in enterprise environments.
  • Practical understanding of firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and secure remote access from a security and risk perspective.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Cyber security or information security qualification (desirable)
  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP or equivalent (desirable)
  • Microsoft Security certifications (SC‑200, SC‑300, SC‑100) (advantageous)
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Diploma in IT or related studies (desirable)
