About Greenway Views 

LDK Seniors Living’s flagship village, Greenway Views, is in Greenway, Tuggeranong in Canberra, opposite the South Point shopping centre and walking distance to the Tuggeranong town centre. The village consists of 327 apartments, spread over five buildings that is about half a kilometre long from end-to-end. Greenway Views is home to nearly 400 residents over the age of 65. The village has over 6,000 square metres of communal space facilitating social connectedness and a vibrant village community. LDK delivers lifestyle-for-life through a variety of age-friendly facilities, amenities and activities for both independent and non-independent residents. On-site facilities include a gym, art centre, chapel, dance room, theatre, library, several hospitality outlets, village shed, barber shop, hairdresser, medical consultation room, grocer, purpose designed meeting spaces and a dog park

About the role

As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality and person-centred care to residents within the village. This is a meaningful, hands-on role where you can truly make a difference in the lives of residents every day. Working as part of a collaborative care team, registered nurses are responsible for clinical assessments care planning and supporting sound clinical decision-making to meet each resident’s individual needs. This role also provides supervision of, guidance and delegation to Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Assistants, ensuring care is delivered safely, respectfully and in line with best practice and regulatory requirements.

Shift 1: Tuesday 22:30-07:00 | Thursday 22:30-07:00 | Friday 22:30-07:00

Shift 2: Tuesday 22:30-07:00 | Wednesday 22:30-07:00 

 

Role responsibilities 

  • Deliver safe, evidence‑based nursing care in accordance with Registered Nurse scope of practice, NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice, and Code of Conduct. 
  • Provide care in alignment with residents’ care plans, preferences, dignity, choice, independence, and cultural safety.
  • Undertake holistic nursing assessments, monitor resident outcomes, and evaluate the effectiveness of care interventions.
  • Monitor, recognise, and respond to changes in residents’ condition, escalating promptly in line with LDK escalation pathways.
  • Support safe medication management and administration in accordance with LDK policy and procedures.
  • Deliver and oversee wound care, chronic disease management, and palliative care support within RN scope of practice.
  • Review and evaluate care in partnership with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate care with general practitioners, nurse practitioners, allied health providers, pharmacies, and external services.
  • Practise in accordance with LDK clinical governance, escalation, incident management, safeguarding, and SIRS frameworks.
  • Support skill development, safe practice, and escalation awareness within the care team.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff and students as required. 
  • Role model professional nursing behaviour aligned with LDK values of Love, Decency and Kindness

Qualifications, Experience and Skills 

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum three (3) years’ experience. 
  • Current Registration with AHPRA.
  • Experience working in the Aged Care or Community Care environment (desirable).
  • Demonstrated competence in the provision of contemporary nursing care, including medication management, clinical assessment and relevant documentation.
  • Demonstrated skills in complex wound management, chronic disease management, medication administration, continence and/or palliative care (highly desirable). 
  • Ability to use technology relevant to the delivery of nursing/care services.
  • Understanding of all relevant legislative, regulatory requirements, professional standards, and guidelines relevant to the Aged Care environment with a particular emphasis on funding, Quality Systems, Accreditation and Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively and efficiently in a highly regulated and complex environment.
