About Greenway Views
LDK Seniors Living’s flagship village, Greenway Views, is in Greenway, Tuggeranong in Canberra, opposite the South Point shopping centre and walking distance to the Tuggeranong town centre. The village consists of 327 apartments, spread over five buildings that is about half a kilometre long from end-to-end. Greenway Views is home to nearly 400 residents over the age of 65. The village has over 6,000 square metres of communal space facilitating social connectedness and a vibrant village community. LDK delivers lifestyle-for-life through a variety of age-friendly facilities, amenities and activities for both independent and non-independent residents. On-site facilities include a gym, art centre, chapel, dance room, theatre, library, several hospitality outlets, village shed, barber shop, hairdresser, medical consultation room, grocer, purpose designed meeting spaces and a dog park.
About the role
Reporting to the Village Finance Manager, the Village Assistant Accountant supports the day-to-day financial operations of the village.
The successful candidate will work Monday - Friday 0830am - 1700pm
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly village management reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flow statement.
- Assist with preparation of month end reconciliations.
- Assist with BAS/GST Compliance requirements.
- Support preparation and distribution of resident billing for care, hospitality and general services charges; including management of accounts receivable process.
- Assist residents with billing enquiries in a timely and professional manner with the Village Finance Manager supporting more complex queries.
- Assist with Account Payable Function.
- Invoice review, coding and provision to Group Finance for processing.
- Managing external supplier queries within the assigned staff.
- Conduct staff site inductions and maintain induction records.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Accounting within the retirement village sector experience is preferable but not essential
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software (Demonstrated experience with Xero is preferable.
- Proven work experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role
