Founded in 1962, Multicap has over 55 years' experience in providing assistance to people with a disability, specialising in high and complex needs. Started by six families who believed in the capabilities of their children, Multicap became a champion of possibility for people with disability and their families all over QLD and Northern NSW. Today, Multicap is a community of possibility for more than 1200 people and their families, and provides tailored assistance to individual needs and goals. 

 

The opportunity

We are looking for a true leader who's approach is person centred, to lead operational teams within the Short Term Emergency Placement service.  You will provide supervision and management which demonstrates a high level of practice expertise, with a specific focus on people with disability who have high and complex needs.  You will ensure services reflect customer needs, the organisation’s core purpose, and deliver agreed quality outcomes for customers and the organisation.

 

Your new role

Quality Service:

  • Demonstration of high levels of practice expertise, including knowledge of contemporary research literature on supporting people with disability at high & complex needs
  • Translating theoretically complex customer plans into the operational environment, including the supervision of service leaders and staff, striving for high quality implementation
  • Ensuring services reflect and promote agreed customer outcomes, including the promotion of skills development, social inclusion and community integration
  • Ensuring services are managed in alignment Multicap's vision, strategic priorities, policies & procedures whilst adhering to legislative requirements at all times

Team Development:

  • Develop a high performing team who demonstrates effective & coordinated services to people with the most complex needs
  • HR activities such as recruiting, selecting and coaching
  • Ensure service delivery and service expansion remains individually focused, meeting customer needs in a cost effective approach

Stake Holder Relationship:

  • Develop and maintain exceptional customer service standards across all service types
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders 
  • Provide regular updates to individuals and/or their guardians on progress toward agreed outcomes

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Qualifications in human services or social sciences or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the provision of services for people with disabilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislation, policy and associated programs in the disability and/or related community services area
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

 

This position is a permanent, full-time position, where the successful applicant will be required to hold a Positive Notice Blue and Yellow Card, and have a valid Driving Licence.
